On May 1, 2022, the Discovery Center of Idaho held a special “French Day,” whereby the signage officially became part of the installations and Herbeck’s students introduced and explained the exhibits to French-speaking visitors. The Discovery Center of Idaho offers world-class exhibitions, virtual and in-person programs, and STEM learning opportunities for year-round visitors. The public can access the translations via QR codes found on each of the exhibits. Students translated the signage and audio in French for three different exhibits: the 30th Anniversary Exhibit, Matter Splatter and Tinker the T-Rex.
Students in Jason Herbeck’s Advanced French Pronunciation and Grammar course (FREN 412) offered in the Department of World Languages, collaborated with the Discovery Center of Idaho during the Spring 2022 semester. The Discovery Center of Idaho is Idahos only hands-on science center, offering interactive and educational learning and education in STEM. As Idahos only hands-on science center, the Discovery Center takes great pride and responsibility in paving the way for interactive science, technology.
